I don't know if I mentioned that our A/C went out in our house. It hasn't been too bad until this last week of upper 90's. Now it is unbearable. What possessed me to make white corn chili for lunch is beyond me. The combination of cooking over a hot stove, eating hot soup and then sitting in our hot house almost made me loose it. We jumped in the car and headed for the hills...literally.
First trip to Trial Lake for this season. 65 degrees, slight wind....HEAVEN!

Yes, that is snow. The roads were clear, but the gate into the campground was still closed with quite a bit of snow. We were all loving it in our shorts and sandals. Jake was in heaven. Shivering, but still diggin for rocks at the bottom of the lake. Crazy mutt.

I love that dog. I love him so much that I will forgive him for pooping in the middle of the trail---next to about 50 fisherman--4 DIFFERENT TIMES!! I've never been more embarrassed. I didn't have anything to clean it up with and there wasn't even a stick to move it out of the way without going on a long hike and coming back---I had to just PRETEND I couldn't see what was going on and just keep on a walkin...I've always hated those people and today I was one. HUMILIATING. We were lucky it wasn't one of the kids after feeding them chili for lunch. There was a lot of tootin going on!!
